Here is a sample from the HomeMaker for Libraries program of a "Friends of the Library" page. This is not a real library page and is intended to show you what your "friends" page will look like if you use HomeMaker for Libraries.

Friends of the Some City Public Library

Library Board

Some City is guided by the five-member mayor-appointed Library Board. Current Board members are: Gloria Borneo, Zelva Hanson, Joe Hermanski, Larry Moore, and Sharon Simon. The Library Board is responsible for setting library policy. The Library Board is also responsible for signing checks for all library expenditures. The Library Board meets the third Wednesday of each month at 4:30pm in the Local History Room. Call 336-4280 for more information.

Friends of the Library

Some City Public Library has had a Friends group since 1888. The Friends group is a non-profit organization that is committed to helping the library in whatever way that they see fit. This includes sponsoring the RIF book distribution, the bookstore (open Mondays 3-5), the Chili Cook-off, and the Fiesta Biblioteca. The Friends meet every second Wednesday of the month at 5:00 pm in the Conference Room. Call 336-4280 for more information.

Volunteers

The library has limited opportunities for volunteer work. Due to staff shortages, there is no staff to train and coordinate the activity of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please call 336-4280.
