In order to expedite your search, those sites that include a search engine of some sort are listed first. Next are hotlists and other sites which require a little bit more digging. Finally, we've listed sources for newsletters, updates, listservs, or other interactive information sharing sources. - US Department of Education: The Find Grants: Apply page starts off with Editor's Picks or choose the View All link. The Discretionary Grant Application page lists what's currently open. There is a Announcements; Application Notices page which pulls from the Federal Register and features education-related grants.
- Grants.Gov is a multiple government agency list. There is a basic search, category search, agency search, and advanced search. You can even sign up to receive email updates, find out what's "New This Week," or read the quarterly newsletter online.
- Browse the National Science Foundation (NSF) Funding Opportunities page. There's a lot here including multiple pags for locating grants and a page for K-12 educators. See also recent opportunities.
- Finding Funders from
the Foundation Center, includes a variety of free and subscription tools including the 1) Foundation Finder , 2) grant statistics,
3) Philanthropy News Digest, trends, and more.
- GrantSmart is an operating non-profit 501(c)3 foundation. Its purpose is to facilitate communication between grantmakers and grantseekers by making public records filed by grantmakers available for public view. You can search by: Name, Location, or Assets; Employer Identification Number (EIN); or keyword.
- techLEARNING.com has a Grants and Contests page that lets you browse through a list of grants, browse by grant or contest type, or use keywords to search.
- eSchool News Grants and Funding page is a searchable directory divided into Equipment Donations, Federal, Fundraising, Private, Resources, and State.
Browse Hotlists (links, links, links)
- A somewhat dated list of 35 grants including some of interest to faculty and instructional development specialists from the National Teaching & Learning Forum. There is a search but currently not working at http://www.ntlf.com/html/grants/grants.htm (bottom of page).
- The Society of Research Administrators International offers two resources: Grants Web, a resource for researching available public, private and Government grants; and the Resource Guide,
comprehensive list of public and private funding assistance resources.
- Los Angeles County Office of Ed has a nice long list of grants available from their Educational Information Resources Search Page.
- Directories, provided by the major search engines, have
lists and may contain some unusual entries that won't probably be found anywhere
else:

- Funding Your Technology Dreams by Sheryl Abshire. A good hotlist of resources.
